Along one of the many narrow alleyways in Venice lies the most beautiful bookstore in the world, the "Alta Acqua Libreria" or High Tide Bookstore. Each and every corner is a quirky vintage lover's dream. Old books line the walls, fill the back shelves, and are packed into an old gondola in the middle of the store. When walking through to the backside, you exit into a little patio (the "fire exit), in which books are stacked to make stairs up to see another Venetian canal. You can buy books here for cheap, on any topic imaginable. In fact, my boyfriend bought a "Cookbook for Gnomes" hardback here. I on the other hand, bought an old postcard for a couple cents.

Really love the place. Plus it must be cheap if you bought a postcard for a couple of cents. Thank you for posting

Wow! I love places like these - places where the locals go. Thanks for sharing!

This looks like the coolest place - I bet the locals know it well and it's a good place to catch people simply being what they are. And those book stairs? Amazing!
